About Us

A pioneering educational initiative.

Founded on the principles of inclusivity and opportunity, the Apex Program is a pioneering educational initiative in cybersecurity, tailored for the blind, visually impaired, disabled, and veteran communities. Created by a Novacoast employee and inspired by a personal connection to the BVI community, the program was built from the ground up to be accessible first.

Now operating as part of AccessCyber under EnterpriseKC, Apex continues its mission with expanded resources, deeper partnerships, and a national platform to grow from.

Program Architect & Lead Facilitator
David Mayne

David transitioned to AccessCyber as Program Architect and Lead Facilitator, bringing continuity and deep expertise to the Apex Cybersecurity Academy. He oversees curriculum, instruction, and student success.

Director, Heartland Cyber Range
Dr. Chuck Gardner

Dr. Gardner serves as Director of the Heartland Cyber Range at EnterpriseKC and leads the AccessCyber initiative. He oversees strategic partnerships, state agency relationships, and program development.
